Observational Studies

An observational study is one where the investigator observes the variables and responses without influencing the outcome.

Types of observational studies

• Sample survey – provides a snapshot of a population at a particular period in time.

Ex We want to determine which Republican presidential candidate will earn the party’s nomination.
