Principles of Experimental Design:
“How to Design a Good Statistical Experiment”
Purpose of a Designed Experiment: To be able to identify the effect of a factor on a response variable while minimizing the effects of any lurking or confounding variables and potentially establish causation.
- Compare 2 or more treatments.
- Randomize – assign experimental units to each of the treatments randomly.
